Winning is all about perspective!
I love watching my children participate in sports, playing with their friends, laughing with their brothers and sisters. I love everything about them and cherish every moment I get to spend with them.
One of life’s events changed me forever on October 1st, 1999. Our little girl, Hannah, died from an undetected heart defect. It was a tragic event that in some ways made me a better person. I now cherish the little things in life. Winning to me is no longer about the final score on the board.
Many people go through life believing to be successful one must win it all. The passion that consumes me too is winning, but a win for me is not the final score of a baseball or football game it’s more important than that. It’s helping those who are unable to help themselves or lending a helping hand to those in need.
Winning is about affecting lives, not the final score of a game. Your child never goes on the field to lose and every moment he or she is out there, is a win. So smile each time you see them make a great play or miss a tackle.
"We can all be angels to one another. We can choose to obey the still small stirring within, the little whisper that says, 'Go. Ask. Reach out. Be an answer to someone's plea. You have a part to play. Have faith.' We can decide to risk that He is indeed there, watching, caring, cherishing us as we love and accept love. The world will be a better place for it. And wherever they are, the angels will dance."
